來自音樂重鎮西雅圖的NWOAHM勁旅，深受Revolver、Decibel等雜誌熱烈讚揚
吸附Pantera、Sepultura、Machine Head各方前輩養分再轉換為自我個性化音樂品種，
散發出濃濃美式的熱血派金屬風格，
身處現今Melodic Death與NWOAHM混淆不清的年代，
許多相似性質的樂團紛紛在唱片作品或現場表演上都使出了渾身解數來相互較勁，
無非只為取得能夠名留樂史的渺小契機，而Demon Hunter做到了，
儘管沒有強硬的大公司背後支撐，充滿著憤怒的能量、卻捨棄恨意與謾罵，
取而代之的是傳達正面性的積極觀念，
呈現出堅持自我並辛勤耕耘的個性化音樂品種，
贏得大批金屬酷客的熱烈推崇。
與Aa I Lay Dying、Underoath、P.O.D.、The Showdown同樣隸屬於CCM(Contemporary Christian Music)門下，
但在音樂範圍中卻絲毫感受不到有任何宗教的束縛，
反而散發出敢作敢言、直接了當的硬漢態度；
自千禧年成軍以來，
由主唱Ryan Clark和貝斯Jon Dunn為創作軸心的Demon Hunter就不斷吸取各方養分，
再轉換成為自成一格的招牌作風，
完整的編曲模式更不難看出其深受Pantera、Sepultura、Machine Head等前輩之洗禮。
2002年加盟Solid State的首張同名專輯還帶有當時興盛的Nu-Metal味道，
但Demon Hunter察覺到樂壇傳統金屬意識正逐漸抬頭，
迅速決定於續作「Summer Of Darkness(2004)」內添入更多Hardcore與Groove元素，
並邀請當紅團隊Killswitch Engage、36 Crazyfists和The Agony Scene之成員前來助陣，
在專門播送搖滾主題的頻道MTV Headbangers’s Ball受到廣泛好評，
其中單曲"My Heartstrings Come Undone"也被電影「惡靈古堡2：啟示錄」選為重點襯樂。
而堪稱為最成熟的代表經典「The Triptych(2005)」，
不論是兇猛狂野或慢板抒情之歌曲掌握都拿捏的面面俱到，
AMG不吝以4/5星高分貝讚許：『足以影響日後美式新浪潮導向的關鍵傑作！』，
Demon Hunter成功在重金屬與信仰上找到平衡點，堂堂站上了事業生涯最高峰。
繼入列Billboard百大之林、空降Top Christian Albums Top 3的「Storm The Gates Of Hell(2007)」後，
老班底Ryan Clark(主唱)、Jon Dunn(貝斯)、Timothy Watts(鼓)，
率領新任雙吉他手Patrick Judge與Ryan Helm，
相隔三年再度繳交第五張專輯「The World Is A Thorn」，

感想
Demon Hunter，
從最早的Nu-metal到後來的metalcore，
甚至轉變成為了NWOAHM，
Demon Hunter的音樂路可說是走的精采。
近年來，美式金屬新浪潮在美國各地大放異彩，
很多的Nu-metal團都改走這樣的路線，
說它是後Nu-metal其實一點都不為過，
或許很多人不認同我這樣的說法，
認為NWOAHM比Nu-metla更多元化，
但是Johnson卻一直認為，
NWOAHM = Nu-metal+
Demon Hunter的主唱，
聲音並不完全屬於Johnson喜愛的那種，
但是他對於某些歌曲的詮釋，
卻有一種還不錯的感覺，
整體來說，
他的聲音在清腔的時候，
比較會吸引人，
在死腔的時候，
反倒讓人感覺不是那麼樣的有Power。
個人覺得，
舊成員演奏的功力感覺上比新成員來的好，
不論是在樂曲的編排，
還有樂手彼此的配合上來說，
09年以前的成員，
搭配起來都有一種比較吸引人的FU，
新的兩名吉他手在與原本的三名團員搭配上，
有一種說不太出來的感覺，
要說是不協調，
也不是，
要說突兀，
也不是，
總之應該是說，
新的這兩名吉他手，
還沒有完完全全的融入這個樂團裡面，
導致在樂曲上的感覺，
讓人感覺到跟以前的樂手搭配上有那麼一絲絲的不同。
對於metalcore及NWOAHM有偏好的人，
此團可以多去聽聽，
因為此團在這個分類裡面，
雖然不是翹楚，
但也有約中上的實力。
