樂團BIO
After Forever（萬世沉淪）是一支來自荷蘭的交響金屬樂團。
樂團同時使用了女高音和死腔，而他們的音樂也受到力量金屬、前衛金屬和哥德金屬的影響。
After Forever在1995年成立時是使用 Apocalypse 作為團名，曲風較為接近死亡金屬。
1997年女主唱 Floor Jansen 加入後，為了更強調她的歌聲，
曲風於是加入了更多哥德金屬的元素。
1999年樂團開始寫曲，並錄製了兩張 Demo - 《Ephemeral》和《Wings of Illusion》，
這兩張Demo引起了唱片公司 Transmission Records 的注意，
之後與樂團簽下合約。
首張專輯《Prison of Desire》在2000年發行，
專輯還邀請了致命誘惑的主唱莎倫·丹·阿德爾參與錄音。
專輯推出後，在歐洲獲得出色的成績。
該年年底，新鼓手 Andre Borgman 和鍵盤手 Lando van Gils 加入樂團，
取代原來的 Joep Beckers 與 Jack Driessen。
2001年，第二張專輯《Decipher》發行。
Floor Jansen 受邀擔任亞力安傳說的客座樂手。
2002年，吉他手 Mark Jansen 被開除，
組成新樂團黯黑史詩。
隨後新吉他手 Bas Maas 加入。
2003年，樂團發行了 EP 和 DVD《Exordium》。
2004年，發行了概念專輯《因果孽報》。
專輯登上了荷蘭排行榜第26名。
同年 Lando van Gils 離開樂團，
新成員 Joost van den Broek 加入。
2005年9月初，他們發行了第四張專輯《Remagine》。
2006年3月3日，樂團因為唱片公司無法提供足夠的宣傳，決定離開。
因此 Transmission Records 發行了精選集《Mea Culpa》。
同年十月，樂團與 Nuclear Blast 簽下合約。
2006年年底樂團錄製了在 Nuclear Blast 旗下的第一張專輯《After Forever》，
請來了殲滅者樂團（Annihilator）的吉他手 Jeff Waters 和 Doro Pesch 擔任客座樂手。
2008年1月，因為 Sander 的健康狀況，
樂團在官方網站上宣布他們將會休息一段時間，
時間至少一年。
2009年2月5日，After Forever宣布解散。
2008年和2009年的休息，
讓團員了解到他們已沒有精力去維持樂團的運作。

感想
After Forever，
另外一個女主唱為首的樂團，
先前Johnson介紹過不少的女主唱樂團，
有美聲的Nightwish，也有死腔的Arch Enemy，
更有只會胡亂嘶吼的In This Moment，
各有各的特色存在，
女性的樂手及主唱也在重金屬及搖滾這塊領域，
快速的成長，茁壯。
以前的多數人，
認為女性玩metal，
那是甚麼東西，
很多人覺得metal是男人的東西，
所以在早期，
metal裡是看不到女性的，
這在Johnson之前的"重金屬之旅"裡面有談及到，
但是看看現在，
有多少以女主唱為招牌的樂團在這混亂的metal界裡打滾，
講坦白的，
這些樂團的實力，
遠比很多只單純有男性團員的樂團，
來的好很多。
After Forever浩浩蕩蕩的六人樂團，
以女主唱Floor Jansen為首，
搭配上吉他手兼death vocal - Bas Maas，
造就在樂曲上面的不同享受，
Floor Jansen的聲音也是屬於有power的那種女聲，
在高音的部分，
可以感覺出來唱的很輕鬆，
而在中低音的部分，
卻也有很好的變換，
至於男聲的部分，
只有在部分樂曲中以配角的角色出現，
其實說老實話，
After Forever原本就是以女主唱為主的樂團，
會有這樣的搭配，
其實一點都不令人意外。
雙吉他的搭配，
在主吉他以及rhythm吉他的配合上，
可以感覺得出來兩位吉他手相輔相成，
誰都沒有搶了誰的風采，
有些樂團，
不是rhythm吉他手太過強勢，
就是主吉他手太過強勢，
也常因為這樣導致樂團失去平衡，
但是在After Forever卻沒有這樣的問題存在，
兩位吉他手的搭配，
真的很令人意外的很融合。
BASS手在這個樂團裡個人認為屬於比較不顯眼的一位，
因為BASS跟鼓屬於相近音域的樂器，
當鼓手較為搶眼時，
BASS就會被忽略或是認為BASS並不強，
但其實After Forever的BASS手，
在某些樂曲中，
扮演著很重要的角色，
在After Forever的音樂裡，
keyboard占有很重要的角色，
但是我覺得keyboard表現的卻是差強人意，
因為哥德式的metal，
常常會需要使用keyboard去營造某些吉他不容易去營造的氣氛，
但是我並不覺得After Forever的keyboard有很完全的做到這樣的角色扮演。
整體來說，
After Forever是一個很不錯的樂團，
但是這樣的樂團，
卻在2009年的2月宣告解散，
原因在於女主唱Floor Jansen身體健康的理由，
在2008年樂團就宣告休息一年，
但是到了2009年的時候，
樂團成員聚在一起，
卻已經沒有那個動力再將樂團從組起來，
這樣的結果讓很多喜愛他們的樂迷們心碎，
也讓metal界，
少了一個不賴的美聲歌德力金團。
After Forever是Johnson個人滿推薦的一團美聲團，
在現今metal界女主唱充斥的型態裡，
有很多好的女主唱，
也是有很多濫竽充數的人在，
雖然他們已經解散了，
但是他們的音樂，
並不會就此消失，
所以還是推薦喜歡這類型音樂的人可以去聽聽他們的音樂。
