17世紀的拉定文定義了Deicide為將耶穌釘上十字架的人以及褻瀆神聖的代名詞，

然而在現今的死亡金屬圈中，

這個名詞象徵了一個歷史地位難以取代的傳奇樂團。

1980年代末期正是美國佛羅里達州，

許多著名死亡金屬團露出頭角的輝煌年代，

相較起同期出身的同鄉Morbid Angel、Obituary、

甚至是最廣為人知的Death，

Deicide的音樂顯得更加的殘暴而極端，

他們為老學校死亡金屬寫下了堪稱楷模的編曲形式以及全新的概念。

從1989年開始進行演出之時，

就像一枚原子彈震撼了整個保守的社會；

撕裂喉嚨的高聲嘶吼和野獸般的渾厚死腔，

將上帝肢解、開腸破肚的兇蠻詞句，

以及主唱兼任貝斯手Glen Benton額頭上的倒十字傷疤，

皆堪稱為樂團的註冊商標。

兄弟檔吉他手Eric、Brian Hoffman原始而扭曲的Riff，

無調、高速且病態的Solo，

搭配上至今仍為創團元老、速度以及鼓點的複雜程度，

都可與Morbid Angel比肩的鼓手Steve Asheim，

在同類型樂團圈中殺出血路，

進而獲得金屬大廠RoadRunner的一紙合約。

次年推出的首張同名專輯，

記錄下了那個時代的狂暴和向全世界基督徒宣戰的邪惡宣言，

與其後推出的「Once Upon The Cross」、「Serpents Of The Light」，

共同成為死亡金屬的經典傑作。

2004年告別老東家進入Earache旗下，

並在推出「Scars Of The Crucifix」後，

Hoffman兄弟掛冠求去，

Jack Owen(Cannibal Corpse)和Ralph Santolla(Obituary)兩名老手取代加入，

亦將改革之風吹進樂團。

如果說「Scars Of The Crucifix」為樂團晦暗風格時期的代表作，

接續的是另一個新時代的降臨。

瘋狂的鼓擊開始變成錯位與快慢分明的現代風格，

吉他的編寫開始加入大量鞭笞、技術性成分和大器的宏觀氛圍，

由地下的反抗之聲躍上檯面，

大肆宣揚他們的瀆神死想。

2011年Deicide再次轉入金屬大廠Century Media，

推出全新專輯「To Hell With God」。

感想

Deicide，

一支來自佛羅里達的死金樂團，

承襲老學校派的死金風格，

在那個美國死金風行的年代，

撐起了一片天。

死亡金屬（Death Metal）樂風以「鞭擊金屬」為其背景演化而成，

特點是充斥電吉他快速的反復，

幾無旋律的和絃，速擊狂踩的雙大鼓，

主唱咬牙不清的低吟狂吼（死腔），

歌詞以死亡仇恨為主題，

充滿了屍體、內臟、肢解、分屍、姦屍、

戀屍癖、食屍、虐待等字眼，

而「死亡金屬」以來自佛羅里達州的重金屬樂隊最具代表性。

然而，死亡金屬的分支也不少，

可以分為傳統死亡金，(Cannibal Corpse)(按我)

殘忍死亡金，(Aborted)

技術死亡金，(Suffocation)(按我)

旋律死亡金，(Dark Tranquillity)(按我)

以及前衛死亡金(Opeth)等等。

原名為Amon的Deicide，

一聽就讓人可以知道他們是來自哪裡的樂團，

擁有一副非常美式的死腔唱腔，

而何謂美式的死腔唱腔呢?

Johnson個人的解讀是，

低沉，

但是唱腔的口中卻有如含著滷蛋一般的唱法，

這就是美式的死腔唱腔，

較為有名的如Cannibal Corpse亦是如此。

Deicide的吉他算是樂團中很不錯的一個部分，

在riff方面，

夠兇猛，

也夠強硬，

而在solo的部分，

則又可以聽到不少高級的技巧展現，

大鼓的雙踏則是樂團的另一個亮點，

具有速度性，

以及破壞性的鼓手，

穩定的雙踏，

帶起了歌曲的速度感。

1980末期的死金樂團如雨後春筍般的，

不斷的冒出來，

但是能夠發展得很好的，

卻並不在多數，

死金因為他們的殘暴性，

並不是能夠讓大眾可以輕易接受，

但這不就是metal，

metal所要表現的，

是世人不願面對，

或是不願談起的人事物，

而死金，

卻是將人們心中最恐懼的那一面，

用音樂，

表現了出來。

感想

Vader，

一支幾乎可說是無人不知，

無人不曉的死金樂團，

他們在樂團的成就，

也影響了許許多多的後生小輩。

死亡金屬（Death Metal）樂風以「鞭擊金屬」為其背景演化而成。

特點是充斥電吉他快速的反復，幾無旋律的和絃，

速擊狂踩的雙大鼓，主唱咬牙不清的低吟狂吼（死腔），

歌詞以死亡仇恨為主題，

充滿了屍體、內臟、肢解、分屍、姦屍、戀屍癖、食屍、虐待等字眼。

「死亡金屬」以來自佛羅里達州的重金屬樂隊最具代表性。

這些樂隊的演奏極其樸實，不像普通重金屬樂隊，

在樂器上加許多效果器，或是用點弦、大小泛音等花哨指法。

然而他們的音樂是「金屬」味，噪而重，

從樂器到主唱的噪音都有噪音成分，

而且配合巧妙，有種出人意料的效果，

並將「金屬樂」這個概念表達得淋漓盡致。

 





這些樂隊很突出的一點就是鼓的節奏異常驚人，

他們採用雙大鼓〈或雙踏〉，雙腳輪踩，

其速度之快難以言表。第二是鈸的運用，

比一般的樂隊快而頻繁的多，小鼓和鈸同打，

並且與大鼓切分，聲音刺耳。

第三是鼓的運用似乎代替了普通金屬中的吉他獨奏，

佔比重很大。

主唱的噪音基本上用「吼」（低）和「嚎」（高）兩種，

而且大部分主唱用真嗓，而非靠麥克風或錄音技術做出來的。

反宗教意識非常明顯，從樂隊名到歌名，

大量涉及宗教名詞，晦澀難懂。

內容多涉及死亡、虐待、精神錯亂、人格分裂、道德危機等等。

總體上反映人類社會的陰暗面，

所以這種音樂本身也顯得黑暗、醜陋，就像死屍散發著惡臭一樣。

封面設計充滿血淋淋的人體殘片，

或是人的肌肉神經解剖圖，

或是被釘在十字架上的死人，

或是恐怖電影中的惡魔形象，

一看就讓人不自在，雖然Johnson很喜歡這樣的封面，

但是對於很多人來說，

卻會造成一種不小的衝擊。

死金陪了Johnson很長的一段時間，

那個時候聽死金，

並不是因為反宗教還是甚麼的，

只是純粹因為覺得死金很爽，

所以就喜歡聽，

Vader算是比較後期才接觸到的樂團，

雖然他名氣很大，

但是那個時候的Johnson沉溺於Canniba Corpse裡，

對於其他的樂團，

有聽，但是聽得不深，

幾年後再聽到Vader的音樂時，

卻驚為天人。

他們的音樂，

就死金來說，

Johnson覺得他們的旋律性不算低，

雖然不到旋死的程度，

但是猛烈的雙踏以及雙吉他的鞭擊，

配合上主唱渾厚的死腔，

貝斯音在整個樂曲中穿梭著，

讓人不用看MV就有一種不寒而慄的感覺，

也讓Johnson在仔細聽了他們的音樂之後，

對他們整個改觀。

Johnson一向都不愛推薦死金或是黑金給對重金屬認識不深的人聽，

原因在於重金屬音樂喜愛的人雖然不在少數，

但是對於大多數剛接觸重金屬的人來說，

黑金及死金的衝擊太大，

怕這樣而嚇跑了有心想要聽重金屬的人，

所以這團一樣不屬推薦團，

但是對於像我們這種聽Metal聽很久的老屁股來說，

此團不聽，

愧為metal head。

如此表現當然吸引到金屬名廠Century Media的注目，

隨即便被網羅旗下。

但就在樂團蓄勢待發，準備跨足國際舞台之時，

Lord Worm卻脫退從事教育工作；缺少了當家主唱，

由具備Death和Hardcore雙重特色嗓音的Mike DiSalvo接棒，

並譜入較淺顯易懂的詞句至歌曲中，

連帶吸引不同層面的聽眾。

連續兩擊「Whisper Supremacy(1998)」、

「And Then You'll Beg(2000)」更是雙雙打入美國市場！

而Cryptopsy不斷嘗試各種Death Metal方向的可能，

與同性質樂團相較之下更是特顯其企圖心。

2002年世界巡迴演唱會的期間，

Mike基於家庭因素必須離去，

感想

Cryptopsy，

加拿大技術死金的代表團，

爐火純青的技巧，

在一出道時就震驚的全球。

技術死金就Johnson個人而言，

算是死金種類裡面最難懂的一種樂風，

原因在於Johnson個人的習慣，

樂團除了聽曲聽詞以外，

會盡量試著去聽裡面樂器的技巧，

技術死應該可說是讓Johnson聽的最吃力的一種樂風，

但是也因為這樣，

Johnson每次聽技術死的音樂時，

都會沉溺於其中，

這應該就是所謂的犯賤吧= =。

與先前介紹過的Decapitated不同，

Cryptopsy算是技術死上的老先生團了，

喜愛技術死的人，

一定不會沒有聽過這團，

與Kataklysm並稱為加拿大最重要的死金團，

在死金樂界裡，

佔有很重要的地位。

Cryptopsy的音樂，

就鼓而言，

他的雙踏並不是屬於Johnson喜愛的那種雙踏，

原因在於他的雙踏雖然速度夠，

但是感覺上起來有些聲音單薄，

沒有那種厚重雙踏的感覺，

就死金而言，

雖然雙踏的種類百百款，

但是就Johnson個人的喜好而言，

還是會比較偏向於厚重雙踏的鼓，

因為這樣的感覺那種壓迫感會比較強烈。

然而對於Cryptopsy的吉他部份，

其實並沒有什麼好去挑剔的，

兩名吉他手的功力，

都屬於高技巧的吉他手，

在樂曲中所展現出來的技巧也很多樣化，

在他們的樂曲中，

可以聽到很多樣的技巧展現，

他們並不只著重於常見的技巧，

一些不常使用的技巧，

在他們的樂曲中也是可以聽到的。

主唱的部份，

屬於很傳統的死腔唱法，

低沉的嗓音，

並沒有很花俏的唱法，

先前提到過死腔很容易就唱死了，

但是他們的主唱在死腔的部分，

表現的算是還不賴的，

唯一讓Johnson比較不喜歡的部分就是在拉高嘶吼時，

並不是感覺很好，

但是就死腔的主唱，

他算是不賴的了。

技術死金這種樂風，

並不像旋律死金那樣的讓人能夠很快接受，

但是喜歡很多樣技巧的人，

絕對會對技術死金這種樂風愛不釋手，

Cryptopsy是繼Decapitated之後，

Johnson另外推薦的一團。

對DECAPITATED作最貼切的形容，相信是「英雄出少年」。

他們可能是世上最年輕的成功死金樂團。

當然，其他的歐洲國家特別是芬蘭不是沒有這些未成年已成名的樂團，卻少有他們那麼極端。

DECAPITATED的風格，是高技術導向和高體力要求的death metal，

而不是power或melodic death。

四名音樂學院同學似乎冥冥之中已註定要走在一起闖一番新景象，

當96年DECAPITATED初成立，四名團員才約十四歲左右，最年輕還要是鼓手，

在97製作第一張demo "Cemeteral Gardens"時他才只是十三四，

而下一年第二張demo "The Eye of Horus"，已令他們得以加入Massive Management成為VADER同門師弟。

1999年正式錄製的第一張大碟"Winds of Creation"，也就是後來交由Wicked World發行的這張，

那時候四人十八歲都沒有還未成年，但是"Winds of Creation"已經是那個年度最好的死金唱片，

他們的實力與創作力與他們的年齡完全不相符得已比大部份老手更老練，

甚至已可和一些大家耳熟能詳的知名樂隊同台演出而不輸不怯場，

好些比他們老十年以上的都未必達到過如此成就。

感想

DECAPITATED，

一個來自波蘭的年輕樂團，

一個年輕並且擁有天賦的樂團，

每當提到波蘭的死金，

大家第一個想到的一定是Vader，

畢竟他們在死金界具有一定的地位，

且幾乎只要是從波蘭出來的死金團，

多多少少都會受到Vader的影響，

但，

DECAPITATED或許是這些樂團裡面，

最沒有Vader影子的死金團。

高技術，重節奏，快速，具強烈壓迫性，多變化，

深沉又邪惡的死腔，順暢的合情合理，

很多的死金團，能夠做到前面的幾項，

是理所當然，

但很多團因為追求高技術，導致無法兼顧順暢，

但是這種狀況在DECAPITATED的音樂裡，

卻很奇蹟似的沒有發生。

死金團，

主唱功力強，很正常，

吉他手功力強，也很平常，

貝斯手功力強，唷，這比較新奇，

鼓手功力強，哇靠，少之又少，

雙手突出的鼓手，

很常見，

但是雙腳突出的鼓手，

那可真是稀有動物了，

對於未成年的鼓手來說，

能夠掌握拍子的轉變，

並且配合的如此協調，

且能夠有足夠的體力應付幾達brutal death的爆發力，

這樣的鼓手，

真的很少見。

死腔，

很容易就唱的死了，

沒有感情，

只是胡亂的嘶吼，

但是DECAPITATED的主唱，

卻將死腔唱的有血有肉，

在他的聲音中，

可以隱約感覺到「感情」，

這樣的主唱，

讓壓迫感強烈的死金，

有了生命，

讓人感覺到死金歌詞中，

那種淒厲，

那種恐懼。

不過這樣好的鼓手，

卻在2007年的一場車禍中，

就這樣喪失了他的生命，

那年他才23歲，

正是DECAPITATED要開始朝向更高層級邁進的時候，

前任主唱也在這次的車禍中，

陷入了昏迷，

DECAPITATED也在2007年，

宣告暫時解散，

不過吉他手對於DECAPITATED還是不願放棄，

於2009年重新找了3名團員，

且沿用原團名宣告復出。

死金種類五花八門，

殘死，技術死，旋死，自殺死，黑死，

每一種都有他們獨特的元素存在，

如果對於死金有喜愛的人，

不論你是獨愛旋死，

還是純愛死金，

DECAPITATED這個來自波蘭的技術死金團，
