當初因太過於醉心於個人周邊樂團的Chris Barnes，
之後就被死亡金屬王團Cannibal Corpse踢出，
此舉歪打正著的讓Chris Barnes，
帶著這害他被解雇的Six Feet Under在樂界闖出了一片天地。
頂著Allen West(Obituary、Massacre)、
Terry Butler(Death、Massacre)等死亡金屬明星樂手的光環，
長驅直駕沿途宰殺了「Haunted」、「Warpath」兩張輯之後，
Allen West掛冠求去，前Massacre吉他手Steve Swanson入替，
延續Six Feet Under瘋狂屠宰主義「Maximum Violence」，
2000年發行了一張讓人莞爾的翻唱專輯「Graveyard Classics」，
這些影響Six Feet Under創作根源以及隨後些許的Death’N’Roll路線深可見骨，
頗受好評的血腥反芻「True Carnage」，
再次證明了Chris Barnes的天生嗜血!!
2003年「Bringer of Blood」的"Amerika the Brutal"，
見到了Six Feet Under難得的政治批判、
面對人類天生劣根性的省思以嚴重自欺欺人的種族問題。

感想
Six Feet Under，
來自美國的Old school死金樂團，
由前Cannibal Corpse成員Chris Barnes帶領，
打造出另外一支死金勁旅。
Death Metal樂風以「鞭擊金屬」為其背景演化而成，
特點是充斥電吉他快速的反復，
幾無旋律的和絃，速擊狂踩的雙大鼓，
主唱咬牙不清的低吟狂吼（死腔），
歌詞以死亡仇恨為主題，充滿了屍體、內臟、肢解、
分屍、姦屍、戀屍癖、食屍、虐待等字眼，
而死亡金屬以來自佛羅里達州的重金屬樂隊最具代表性。
說到old school死金，
大家第一個想到的一定都會是Cannibal Corpse，
畢竟他們在傳統死金上的貢獻以及成就，
鮮少有其他樂團可以媲美，
但是在C.C之外，
難道就沒有死金團可以欣賞了嗎??
如果你這麼想那就錯了!!
Six Feet Under由於是由前C.C的成員Chris所組成，
所以在他們的樂曲之中，
多多少少還是可以嗅出C.C的味道，
但是他們跟C.C最大的不同，
就是在樂曲編排上，
他們的節奏性比起C.C來說，
比較鮮明，
而主唱的死腔，
也不如C.C的含糊不清，
反而可以大致聽得出來主唱在唱些甚麼。
但是Six Feet Under的音樂，
雖然並不是完完全全的走向old school，
但是他們還是保留了old school的大部分原素在其中，
讓人猛然一聽，
會認為是old school death metal，
但細細品味之後，
卻可以發現他們的音樂，
有很多的變化性在其中可供探索。
如果你已經聽膩了C.C的death metal，
想要來些不一樣的樂團衝衝你的腦神經，
那麼Six Feet Under會是一個不錯的選擇，
他們2012年的新專輯也將在5月21日發行，
想必又會造成一陣風潮!!
