然而眾所皆知樂團代表Linkin Park、Limp Bizkit、

都已偶像化的成為新世代搖滾客們膜拜對象，

但是，今天主角崆樂團，

可說是成功將這風潮帶入流行樂地盤，

甚至獲得葛萊美獎青睞的祖師大團。

 

由怪傑Jonathan Davis(主唱)領軍，

加上Brian Welch、James Shaffer(雙吉他手)、

Reginald Arvizu(貝斯手)及David Silveria(鼓手)等，

五位大將於1993年組成，

1995及1997年分別發行【Korn 】與【Life Is Peachy】，

感想

Korn，

Nu - metal的祖師爺，

與其得意門徒Limp Bizkit，

在那個Nu - metal盛行的年代，

橫掃樂壇。

聽metal聽很久的人，

有不在少數的人會認為，

nu - metal is like a shit，

因為聽metal的人都知道，

metal會越聽越重，

不論是什麼樂風，

口味都會越來越重，

但是，

nu - metal卻是最不像metal genres的metal之ㄧ，

但，nu - metal卻是另一種兩項不同風格的音樂，

完美結合的最佳寫照。

rap加上metal，

這就是nu - metal的創始，

Korn在這個領域上，

他們的成就真的是無人能及，

雖然他們的門徒Limp Bizkit後勢比他們還要來的耀眼，

但是還是有那麼一道跨不過的門檻在，

與Limp Bizkit比起來，

Korn的音樂更趨近於metal，

也讓重金屬的樂迷們，

更能夠接受。

歌詞內容頗受年輕人喜愛，

Korn一出道就在美國以及世界各地造成風潮，

辮子頭，主唱酷炫到不行的麥克風，

嘻哈的穿著都是他們的特色，

對於當時的時下年輕人來說，

Korn唱出了他們的心聲，

唱出了他們心中想要怒吼或訴說的情緒。

但隨著Nu - metal的退燒，

Korn以及Limp Bizkit也漸漸的銷聲匿跡，

但是Korn還是持續性的進行live tour，

以及發行新的專輯，

無奈Nu - metal就如泡沫經濟一般，

來的快，去的也快，

但是Korn還是堅持他們的信念，

繼續在nu - metal這一塊領域，

繼續他們的音樂，

繼續唱出年輕人的心聲。

一個融合南美（西班牙）拉丁民族音樂、電音與雷鬼的Nu Metal團

除了幾個團員來自南美洲 、歌詞中夾雜少部份西班牙文外，

還有兩個鼓手的編制，

另外這團的沙皮狗鼓手曾任Soulfly鼓手，所以跟Soulfly有些關聯。

喜歡聽新金屬的應該會覺得這團不錯爽，

2005年的第三張專輯《One Nation Underground》，

較為不同是因為他們在此張的曲風做了些變化，

融合很多metalcore的元素，

2008年發行的《Enigma》，

有回歸到他們較早期的曲風（更異國民俗、更軟的新金屬 ）

金屬名門廠牌Roadrunner繼Slipknot後又一巨星問世，

結合Linkin Park與Slipknot風格，

收錄「Freddy Vs. Jason」電影主題曲「How Can I Live」。

挾著前作35萬張唱片銷售的實力，

Ill Nino趁勝發表了第二張新作「Confession」。

由於拉丁民族意識濃厚，

此專輯除了保有原有的美式金屬爆發力，

在拉丁風的鋪陳上

更是不遺餘力，

這點從他們貫有的英文西班牙文交錯使用及樂器的運用上即可嗅出。

Ill Nino 開啟了近年來最嗆的金屬曲風，

其中包含了Linkin Park的旋律性以及Slipknot的暴力成分，

如此的風格走向也正好符合了所有nu-metal樂迷喜可口混辛辣的極端口味。

另一支主打曲「How Can I Live」則是「Freddy Vs. Jason」的電影主題曲，

曲式流行卻不失modern metal的獨特性。

感想

Ill Nino，

一個身處於美國卻被世人稱為西班牙樂團的Nu metal樂團，

他們的音樂向來以嗆辣聞名，

也讓很多喜愛Nu metal的樂迷們，

愛不釋手。

Johnson心中的Nu metal四大團，

Slipknot、Disturbed、Korn，

以及這次介紹的Ill Nino，

各有各的特色，

其中又以同公司的Slipknot及Ill Nino最為嗆辣，

Ill Nino結合了Slipknot以及Linkin Park的樂風，

加上了濃厚的南美風格，

創造出一條不同於以往的Nu metal的路，

他們或許在國內並不如上述兩團那麼樣的有名，

但是他們的音樂真的很不同。

結合爵士鼓以及手打鼓的風格，

與Slipknot不謀而合，

不同的是，

Ill Nino的手打鼓，

所使用的是拉丁的手打鼓，

所創造出來的感覺並不一樣，

也讓樂團在鼓的方面，

變化更為多元化。

兩名吉他手，

在clean tone的部份，

表現的算滿搶眼的，

rhythm guitar的吉他手，

在樂曲節奏上，

能夠很完整的表現出歌曲想要表達的感覺，

而lead guitar部分，

solo部份比較讓人詬病，

有些歌曲的solo彈奏，

音並不夠乾淨，

會讓人感覺到有些音是連在一起的，

音色讓人感覺渾濁。

樂曲中加入了少取的西班牙文歌詞，

也讓Ill Nino的歌，

多了一些拉丁風格存在，

Nu metal的樂風，

本來就是很多種不同的元素所結合而成的一種樂風，

主唱的聲音，

在清腔時表現較為突出，

在metal腔時，

很常會讓人有一種唱的很吃力的錯覺，

因為主唱的聲音本質比較細，

所以會讓人有這樣的感覺。

Ill Nino在Nu metal來說，

算是一個很不同與其他樂團的樂團，

他們的音樂，

可以讓人很容易感覺到那種熱血奔放的感覺，

對Nu metal有偏好的朋友，

Ill Nino可千萬別錯過。

漫談新金屬

1990年代，一些新派的重金屬樂隊把重金屬樂加入了不同的元素和演繹方式，

如加入PUNK或HIP HOP的節奏、DJ混音、MIDI、說唱等，形成了新金屬(Nu-Metal)。

而新金屬與傳統重金屬有很多不同之處，

如沒有或較少吉他獨奏部份、新金屬樂手不一定像傳統重金屬樂手般留長髮、

主唱不一定以死腔或咆哮狂吼唱完整首歌、以較悅耳的旋律貫穿整首歌等等。

新金屬主唱通常採取具有侵略性的唱腔，包括有清腔、喉音嘶吼、重金屬與硬蕊龐克的各式吼叫，

有時也如放克金屬使用饒舌。

新金屬的貝斯常常讓人聯想起嘻哈或放克。在有些歌曲中，貝斯手會使用slap的技巧，為歌曲增添放克節奏。

許多新金屬貝斯手會使用五弦貝斯取代常見的四弦貝斯。

許多新金屬樂團會使用DJ來增加音樂元素（像是音樂取樣、刮盤、電子背景）。

nu-metal通常都是重金屬樂迷入門最容易接受的種類，

在於它的歌詞平易近人，

且節奏強烈又無壓迫感。

Disturbed在nu-metal界裡，

有別於其餘nu-metal團，

比較接近重金屬的本質，

主唱的聲音，

本質上算是不賴的。

此團為個人nu-metal樂風裡的top 5之一，

建議喜歡nu-metal的人，

或是剛接觸重金屬的人，

可以去聽看看。

在北卡羅來納州gastonia長大的durst，熱愛滑板運動，愛軋霹靂舞，聽得是龐克與饒舌，高校畢業後因滑板運動所造成的腰傷而退役，

隨後定居佛羅里達州海港城市jacksonville，以刺青為業，1994年，血氣方剛的durst剛結束一段不愉快的婚姻，

決定把精力轉移到搖滾樂，與好友sam rivers、wes borland、scott borland、john otto合組樂團

(*最早名為limp bizkut，後更名為limp bizkit)，

95年，冶饒舌與重搖滾於一爐的隊伍korn(崆樂團)首度到jacksonville開唱，

身為刺青藝術家的durst免費幫korn的兩位團員-吉他手brian 'head' welch、貝斯手reggie 'fieldy' arvizu刺青，

durst也透過兩位團員與korn的製作人ross robinson結為好友，

96年因緣際會為洛杉磯/愛爾蘭裔饒舌大團house of pain的告別巡迴行程擔任暖場，

雙方合作愉快下，limp bizkit便請該團大將dj lethal(*拉脫維亞流亡者)入主，

而在dj lethal加入前，limp bizkit於96年年初錄製了一捲包括＜counterfeit＞、＜pollution＞、＜stuck＞

等歌曲在內的「three dollar bill, y'all$」試唱帶，

並將試唱帶交給korn樂團，korn的製作人ross robinson聽過後決定簽下樂團，並將擔任樂團製作人。

97年，limp bizkit贏得主流大廠interscope的合約，

首張專輯《three dollar bill, y'all$》發行之初，首波單曲'counterfeit'不甚順遂，

緊接著推出翻玩george michael名作的單曲'faith'迅速走紅全美搖滾電台，

更被選為女星卡麥蓉狄亞茲主演電影「寶貝好壞」(very bad thing)的片尾主題曲，

為累積人氣，樂團大量參加各式演唱會，像是:mtv電視音樂頻道春假特別節目'fashionable loud'、與kid rock(搖滾小子)、

前house of pain主將everlast攜手投入跨年演唱會…等，而樂團在每場演唱會時都從特製的巨型廁所出場的奇招也格外引人側目，

感想

Lipm Bizkit，

可說是繼Korn之後，

nu-Metal最成功的樂團之一，

連後期的Linkin Park，

都有他的影子存在，

他們也正好搭上了nu-metal流行的風潮，

在99年到03年之間，

與Korn攻佔了nu-metal的大部分市場，

歌詞中漫罵、不屑、囂張、霸氣、怒意表露無疑，

但相較於歸類於nu-metal，

我個人比較傾向於把他們歸類在Rap metal裡面，

但是很可惜的是，

樂團於2005年之後，

悄悄的呈現半解散的狀態，

每個團員都各自去忙各自的事情，

拍電影的拍電影，

另組新團的另組新團，

讓人感覺到很可惜，

不過有消息指出，

Limp Bizkit有準備復出的跡象，

到也還滿期待復出後的他們，

能否在這nu-metal稍稍退潮的年代，

再掀起另一波潮流。

樂團介紹：Slipknot 滑結樂團

  

1995年9月，Slipknot成立於美國艾奧瓦州的首府Des Moines地區，經過成立之初發展後，以Shawn "Clown" Crahan為首的樂隊最終形成多達九人的固定陣容。Slipknot分別以0到8的九個數字來代表沒名成員，從0到8，依次是：Sid Wilson，Joey Jordison，Paul Grey，Chris Fehn，James Root，Craig Jones，Shawn "Clown" Crahan，Mick Thompson，Corey Taylor。成立之初，Slipknot的九名成員就開始以面具為他們最重要的表演工具，無論到哪，都只見面具，而不見廬山真面目

 

Slipknot成立後，始終追求著自己獨特的音樂風格，以自己方式表現音樂，一種狂燥，噪聲，黑暗，暴力，宣泄的重金屬音樂。不過他們獨特而瘋狂的演出方式最初在當地並沒有得到太多的認可，但沒有過太久，他們狂暴的音樂就贏得很多年輕人的追捧。

1999年， Slipknot在Roadrunner Records唱片公司發行他們第一張正式專輯《Slipknot》，經過不停的巡演，Slipknot逐漸擁有自己固定歌迷，他們暴力、甚至有些血腥的演出很快通過電視轉播而征服了眾多的重金屬樂迷，這次演出有多位成員在表演時發泄過度而受傷，樂隊靈魂人物Crahan頭部甚至要縫針。不過鮮血為他們換來了更廣泛的知名度，他們的單曲《Wait and Bleed》和《Spit It Out》馬上成為了很受歡迎的單曲，專輯銷量也一直非常順利，2000年的時幾乎進入Billboard 200排行榜前50名，在全美銷量破了100萬張，在Roadrunner唱片公司歷史上還是第一次。

Slipknot在2002年的時候，團員因各自做各自的事情，導致這個團有瀕臨散團的危機，不過在Core Taylor發表了一篇聲明後，雖然造成主唱與Gwar成員Oderous Urungus的口舌之爭，卻也意外的將團員的心再度凝聚起來，並於2003年推出了新專輯，向樂迷宣告，Slipknot回來了。
