惡靈天皇（Cradle of Filth）在1991年成立於英國，
由主唱Dani Filth領軍所組成的黑金屬樂團。
因為他們的裝扮幾乎都是吸血鬼的模樣，
所以有人稱為吸血鬼派黑金屬。
Dani Filth利用特有尖高音式的黑腔搭配交響弦樂與陰暗氣氛的背景，
唱出高文學素質的歌詞，影響許多後進黑金屬樂團。
「吸血鬼派」金屬教祖之終極鬼魅代表作，
超越恐怖電影的陰森極限，體驗歌德暴力美學的最高饗宴！
成軍已超過十載的Cradle of Filth不僅是「吸血鬼」金屬樂派的教祖，
更是第一支以吸血鬼裝扮強行入境梵地崗的重金屬樂團，
而其出名的程度光以專輯銷售已破百萬都不足以形容，
因為當英國BBC等多家電視台爭相報導或為該團製作特別節目之時，
Cradle of Filth的主唱Dani早已躍升成為繼Ozzy Osbourne之後，
被公認為「惡魔皇子」的法定代言人！
成立於1991年，來自英國的Colchester，在樂風上，
他們受到了一些老團如: Celtic Frost、 Bathory、Diamanda Galas和Mercyful Fate等的影響，同時也具備了一些大文豪如拜倫、雪萊和尼采等同樣的思想特質:悲觀而厭世。
這些都可以在他們的音樂中找到。
在當時，由斯堪地那維亞半島所帶領的Black Metal潮流正風起雲湧，
許多新進團體紛紛成立，而音樂走向也取法挪威派的黑金屬，
而這樣的結果，造成了彼此音樂的重疊性，往往聽了一個團就不用聽其他的團，
Cradle Of Filth確也走出了自己的風格，
他們自稱：“The Only True English Black Metal Band”（唯一真正的英國黑金屬樂團）。
和斯堪的納維亞半島的諸神相比，Cradle Of Filth不僅在地域位置和音樂風格上自成一派，
而且作為英語背景的黑暗金屬樂隊，銷量得以覆蓋美國市場，
這大概是Sony唱片看上他們的原因吧。Cradle Of Filth在商業上的成功還得益於他們的黑暗概念只圍繞吸血鬼、地獄、
撒旦這些弱智美國人都能理解的東西，
再加上流暢而富於變化的旋律和又快又猛的吉他，
因此一部分聽膩了Rap Metal、Hardcore和Industrial的美國青少年轉向Cradle Of Filth這類源自內心深處的黑暗勢力也就不足為奇了。
Cradle Of Filth在極端金屬領域一直是倍受尊敬的樂團。
他們在多年的探索和嘗試中，
逐漸形成了一種融各派所長的獨特風格：北歐黑金屬的猛烈演奏、
交響金屬的宏大結構、死亡金屬的低吼、哥特金屬的女高音伴唱再加上主唱Dani Filth招牌式的吸血鬼氣質的尖叫。
在密不透風的編曲下流動著一幅幅陰暗殘暴卻又唯美的畫卷。
相信只要你投入過他們的音樂一次，就會情不自禁地一遍遍反復聆聽，
這是一種讓人上癮的邪惡感覺。
有的評論乾脆將他們單立一派，
稱為“吸血金屬”（Vampire Metal），
不過這一派旗下門徒寥寥，大概是這種非人非獸般的尖叫實在太難模仿了。

感想
Cradle Of Filth，金屬史上第一支吸血鬼金，
前無古人，
後無來者。
吸血鬼德古拉的裝扮，
配合上充滿中古世紀風格的MV拍攝手法，
以及主唱Dani那淒厲的高音嘶吼，
造就了Cradle Of Filth成為了吸血鬼金屬的第一把交椅，
或許有些團也承襲這樣的風格，
但是說真的，沒有一個樂團玩得像早期的Cradle Of Filth如此透徹。
Cradle Of Filth的特色除了MV風格以及團員的穿著外，
Dani那似女似男的唱法，讓他與女主唱的搭配時，
常常讓人分辨不出到底是Dani唱的還是女主唱唱的，
而Cradle Of Filth他們音樂，
在吉他以及BASS部分，
並不屬於清晰的，
在許多部分屬於比較混濁的彈奏方式，
而鼓的部分，
因為這類型的音樂，
鼓聲的支撐是很重要的，
所以他們的鼓，算是樂手之中還不差的了!!
後期的Cradle of Filth轉型成為了歌德金屬，
整個的感覺就差了非常的多，像其2012年所出的專輯，
跟以前的風格真得是十萬八千里，
個人建議對此團有興趣的人，
可以先從早期的音樂慢慢聽。
