於1992年正式成軍至今，

從Thrash、Metalcore、Groove甚至Nu-Metal都有著程度上的涉獵，
算是少數能夠自在悠遊各領域，
並深獲傳統以及創新派系樂迷歡迎的重裝隊伍，
令許多苛刻樂評們對於他們多變的實驗精神、
破開地獄激出邪靈的暴虐氣焰感到驚豔。
來自加州奧克蘭，入主曾是地下獨立金屬廠牌龍頭老大的Roadrunner，
現在更具商業市場的將旗下藝人推往國際舞台，Machine Head不僅忠心的待在旗下，
更是Roadrunner相當引以為傲的代表團之一。
1994年問世的首張專輯"Burn My Eyes"，
贏得獨立金屬界的一致喝采，
公信力極強的專業金屬搖滾雜誌Kerrang!
給予五星滿分評價，成為Roadrunner銷售最好的處女之航，
直到1999年才被Slipknot打破。

感想
Machine Head，來自美利堅合眾國的後鞭金樂團，
承襲了鞭金的傳統，
結合了新的氣象，
展現出新的風貌。
說到傳統鞭金，
大家不外乎就是聯想到Metallica、Slayer等經典老團，很多人說後起之秀無法超越他們，
我個人認為，
在他們的全盛時期，
現在的後起之秀真的無法與他們比擬，
畢竟他們全盛時期，
真的帶給許多金屬迷們很難以忘懷的音樂，
雖然後期音樂年紀，因為商業需求，
使得他們漸漸的趨向於主流，
但是他們的輝煌歷史，
實在很難超越，
而後起之秀，
如Machine Head這樣的樂團，
承襲了他們的傳統，
創造出屬於他們的Thrash Metal。
Machine Head這支樂團，
他們的音樂，個人覺得他們雖然承襲了鞭金，
但是他們很多時候，
蠱惑金的成分占了多一些，
不得不稱讚一下他們的吉他手，
在solo以及和弦的部分，
都有很不錯的表現，
剛離團的bass手，
在樂曲之中撐起了所有的低音部分，
穩健，渾厚，
而在於鼓的部分，
表現卻沒有那麼樣的突出，
有些些可惜。
鞭金，
相信是伴隨很多金屬迷的年輕歲月的一種分類，他們貼近傳統的重金屬，
但卻又不失爽度，
甚至於爽度更加增加，
在現在這個金屬蕊，死蕊等等偏主流的樂風盛行年代，
Machine Head或許是另外一個不錯的選擇。
