Skid Row的成名史當朔及金屬樂的黃金80年代，

當時有不下數十支樂團馳騁於樂壇及Bilboard排行榜之中，

而由’80重搖滾先鋒Bon Jovi所慧眼相中並提拔的Skid Row雖然出道稍晚，

卻能在居此劣勢之下突破Motley Crue、

Poison與Cinderella等成名樂團所打下的金屬市場，

並占有一席之地。






尤其是首張同名專輯獲頒雙白金，並攻佔Billboard，

分別為Top 4 的"18 And Life"和Top 6的"I remember You"，

即可證明Skid Row為一顆不折不扣的超級新星。






第二張專輯「Slave To The Grind」，

以更為厚重的金屬風格呈現並持續狂賣，

同時期Skid Row更來台演出，造成轟動！

之後進入90年代由於Nirvana所帶起的Grunge風潮，

將華麗金屬王朝淹沒，

Skid Row也因此沉寂一段時間，

直到1995年才又推出叫好卻不叫座的「Subhuman Race」，

足見大勢已去，連帶地也使得樂團解散，

至於眾所矚目的主唱Sebastian Bach則轉戰百老匯歌劇圈，

獲得不錯的成績。






2000年Skid Row宣告復活，並於2003年發表新作「Thickskin」，

新任鼓手由Phil Varone (ex-Sigon Kick) 接替，

至於主唱的空缺則由發表過個人專輯的Johnny Solinger入替。

也許樂迷會質疑Johnny是否可接下Sebastian的工作，

然而答案可是肯定的！

Skid Row的復出除了表面上的意義，

更象徵著’80 Glam Metal的復興。

感想

Skid Row，

80年代搖滾樂風的傳奇樂團之一，

與Bon Jovi，

帶起美國重搖滾的風潮。







慵懶的主唱聲調，

有著一貫80's的搖滾風格，

這就是Skid Row的音樂，

如果要說他們是很純的重金屬，

未免太過牽強，

但如果要說他們是80搖滾的傳奇，

那麼卻一點都不為過，

歌詞之中有著美國硬式搖滾一貫的風格，

談論著年輕人的夢想，

談論著年輕人的憧憬，

更談論著年輕人對於這個世界的不滿與不屑。

飄逸的長髮，

是80年代樂團的共同特徵，

所以80年代的搖滾，

也被稱作Hair metal，

他們的音樂，

在吉他的部分非常的注重，

通常樂團之中雙吉他的配置，

是基本配備，

而那個時候的鼓，

通常會是屬於比較基本的鼓，

但是聽起來卻會讓人熱血澎湃，

貝斯的部份，

在很多80年代的搖滾團裡，

都可以很明顯的聽得出來，

這是現在的樂團裡比較不容易見到的。






認真的說起來，

或許很多的80年代樂團並不如現在我們所聽的重金屬，

那麼樣的重，那麼的凶猛，

但是，

他們卻是所有聽重金屬的樂迷們，

永遠最愛的一塊。

Skid Row就是這樣一個讓人愛不釋手的樂團。
