與Nu-Metal界代表樂團Rage Against The Machine(討伐體制)，
相繼解體共組Audioslave(音魔)樂團造成轟動後，
經過風風雨雨，
最具80年代重金屬/硬式搖滾傳奇性樂團Gun N’ Roses(槍與玫瑰)，
併入90年代Grunge樂勁旅Stone Temple Pilots(石廟嚮導)之主唱Scott Weiland，
合組期待多時的夢幻超級樂團Velvet Revolver (絲絨左輪)，
將是全球樂迷望眼欲穿的重量級樂團！
集結Gun N’ Roses黃金樂手組合Slash(吉他手)、
Duff McKagan(貝斯手)、Matt Sorum(鼓手)三位曾經搭檔共事的好夥伴，
自從在槍與玫瑰時期那段不愉快的分家後(94年Slash離團，
Duff和Matt97年離團)，因為再一次的同台表演，
勾起彼此想要再度合作的意願，
緊接著加入擔任過Wasted Youth、 Electric Love Hogs、
和Dave Navarro吉他手的Dave Kushner接觸，
他是Slash高中時期的朋友，
也曾經和Duff玩過幾年音樂，
跟Slash超有默契！
最後剩下主唱一職，讓他們傷透腦筋，
最後由曾是槍與玫瑰超級歌迷的Scott Weiland加入後，
終於塵埃落定，並著手為全新組合籌畫首張震撼歌壇的專輯，
譜寫全新作品！

感想
Velvet Revolver，
來自美國的重搖滾樂團，
集合了前知名的搖滾樂團的各成員，
讓這支新的樂團，
備受期待。
Hard rock，
是一種搖滾樂流派，
最早發源於1960年代中期的油漬搖滾與迷幻搖滾，
比以往的搖滾樂更為猛烈，
硬式搖滾主要使用失真效果的電吉他、
貝斯、鼓及鋼琴等鍵盤樂器。
在搖滾樂上，
美國與英國一直處於相互較勁的局面，
但據外國文獻的資料顯示，
英國的搖滾樂發展的時間，
大概比美國早了幾年，
但其實相差並沒有很多，
英國的搖滾樂，
其實發展到後來，
多偏向於迷幻搖滾的風格，
或者是英式搖滾，
Johnson都稱這種搖滾為慵懶搖滾，
因為聽起來就有一種慵懶的感覺，
但是很舒服，
而美式搖滾，
則是比較讓人感覺熱血澎湃，
讓人感覺情緒激昂，
發展出了完全不同的兩種型態。
Velvet Revolver中的成員，
因為多為GNR的前成員，
其中還包含了吉他英雄Slash，
Slash生於1965年7月23日，Stoke-On-Trent, ENGLAND。
身高:5英尺10英寸，
喜歡的吉他有GIBSON LES PAUL STANDARD。
因為其中有三位前GNR的成員，
所以其實在他們的音樂之中，
隱隱約約可以嗅到GNR的味道存在，
但是非常的不明顯，
Velvet Revolver的吉他部分，
自然不用多說，
整體的配合上，
也是屬於層級很高的配合，
唯一比較讓Johnson遺憾的是，
Velvet Revolver的主唱屬於Power較弱的種類，
所以在歌曲之中，
感覺好像應該是主唱爆發的階段，
卻沒有爆發，
但是主唱的中低音屬於厚實的，
所以整體聽起來，
並不會太弱，
只是少了這麼一點驚喜而已，
附帶一提，
目前Velvet Revolver 是處於一個沒有主唱的狀態。
Johnson常說，
重金屬音樂的源頭就是搖滾樂，
當重金屬音樂聽久了，
偶爾回頭聽聽搖滾樂，
會讓自己聽重金屬的心情，
更為開闊，
自然而然也就能夠接受更多種類的重金屬類型了。
